Just like our bodies, our legs come in different shapes and sizes, be it long, short, thick or thin it doesn't matter, what does matter is finding the right shoe to suit your legs and make the most of that wonderful body you have!!
It is important to choose wisely when you are shoe shopping to make sure you find something that works with your leg shape and are right for you. Not all shoes suit all women!!
If your legs are on the shorter and slimmer side then try to go for some height. Fear not though, this does not necessarily mean pain and discomfort lies ahead in your stylish pursuits. Platforms and wedges are a great comfortable way to add height. Avoid heels with straps, that way, there is nothing breaking up the line of vision between your ankle and the rest of your leg, this will create the illusion of length!!

If you prefer ballerina flats try to keep your dress or skirt just above the knee otherwise you will make your legs look even shorter.

Girlie Tip: French women tend to wear the same colour tights as their shoe, this instantly adds length to your legs!!

If you have shorter thicker legs open-toed shoes with a solid heel flatter best. Go for boots that end just below the knee, definitely not mid-calf and try to avoid flat boots as they will only make your legs look thicker than they are.
Also stay away from gladiator flats or any other shoe style that wraps around your ankle, instead go for a nice slip on sandal with a heel to elongate and slim the leg.

Girlie Tip: If you're looking for a universally flattering shoe....one word: Stilettos!! No matter what the shape of your legs, they will always make you look feminine and sexy!!

For all you ladies out there with legs up to your ears... your long and slender legs would totally rock a pair of killer stilettos yet still look as leggy and cute in a pair of ballet flats .
If you want to play up your small calves, a pair of stappy sandals or Mary Janes would look great. If you have thin ankles, you are also very lucky to be the woman who gets to pull off the ankle or mid-calf boot, so get shopping.

But, and there is always a but, try to avoid pointy shoes (whether they are a pair of heels or boots), they will only elongate your legs further and make you look too long. Also avoid chunky heels or heavy platforms as they may overwhelm your ankles - next stop A&E!!

If you have thick, athletic legs you should aim to elongate your legs, choose a super high heel slightly pointy, open-toed shoes and stilettos will make your legs look leaner. Chunky wedge sandals are another great option, but try to go with a two or three inch heel; this will visually lift your leg.

It might be difficult to squeeze your legs into a pair of calf-hugging boots, so go for a pair of soft suede boots with side zippers for easy access. Littlewoods, Next and F&F for Tesco are just some of the stores that now do wide fit boots and shoes. Also, avoid rounded toe pumps, small squared heels and delicate styles like ballet flats or kitten heels because they can add weight to your legs and make them look heavier.

Girlie Tip: It is always a good idea to wear beige shoes with nude stockings or tights, this can considerably elongate your silhouette!!

Finally, no matter your leg shape .... avoid, avoid, avoid at ALL costs shoes with exaggeratedly pointy toes, whose tips are quite obviously empty, they are so unsightly when they curl skyward after they have been worn a few times!!!

So Girlies...get shoe shopping!!!
